Manama: The Master Chef cooking competition organized by Gulf Madhyamam in association with Dana Mall Lulu Hypermarket gave taste lovers an unforgettable and beautiful evening.
Chef Suresh Pillai, who won the hearts of the food lovers by creating awe-inspiring dishes, and Mathukkutty, the lovely presenter enthralled hundreds of spectators gathered along with the contestants.
After the first round in which 50 contestants lined up to present mouth-watering fish dishes, seven contestants reached the final round. Ansi Joshi won the first prize, Leema Joseph won the second prize and Noor Jahan won the third prize in the judging which was based on culinary excellence as well as presentation skill on the dish.
Along with the excitement of the competition, the evening also featured several artistic performances including dance, Oppana, and a live demonstration of Chef Suresh Pillai's masterpiece, 'Fish Nirvana', which was received with applause by the audience.
Lulu Regional Manager Abdul Shukur said that the competition was unforgettable with Chef Suresh Pillai's simple and beautiful presentation in front of the Malayalees who gathered at Lulu Dana Mall. Since its opening in 2007, Lulu Danamall has been the dearest shopping centre and favourite meeting point of the Malayali community in Bahrain. We are proud to host the Master Chef competition at Lulu Dana Mall with so much activities that inspired the audience.
He said that Chef Suresh Pillai's words instilled confidence that anyone can make any dish at home. He added that the organization of the competition was also superb under the leadership of Gulf Madhyamam.
Lulu Dana Mall Manager Praveen, Deputy Manager Shibu Abraham, Bosch Khalifat General Manager M. Shibu, Gulf Madhyam Executive Committee Chairman Jamal Iringal and Program Committee Chairman Saeed Ramadan also attended the event as chies guests.
